The Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) says states are taking precautionary measures to ensure the outbreak of Lassa fever, a deadly virus is contained. Earlier, three persons two doctors and a patient believed to be the index case, had died of the disease at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano, recently.As of now, 292 persons have been put on watch list over the disease.

Nigeria has dropped two places in the latest ranking on the annual corruption perception index published by Transparency International. In the 2018 report, Nigeria ranked 144 out of 180 countries surveyed by the organisation. Nigeria is now ranked 146 out of the 180 countries considered in the recently released report.
