Tyson Fury Becomes New WBC Heavyweight Champion

Briton Tyson Fury is now the WBC heavyweight champion of the world after a dominating performance to outclass Deontay Wilder in Las Vegas.

It was one of the most anticipated heavyweight fights of a generation as Fury looked for justice after he felt he was robbed of victory in their original fight in December 2018.

Fury stopped Wilder in round seven, handing the American his first loss – as the British fighter went on to become world champion for the second time.

Wilder’s corner threw the towel in after a sustained battering by Fury, who could now look to fight Anthony Joshua in a box office Battle of Britain after bagging the WBC belt.
