Coronavirus: Ghana Bans Public Gatherings, Close Schools

Amidst the increase in the number of Coronavirus cases in Ghana, the government has announced a ban of public gatherings, including conferences, funerals, political rallies, and religious activities.

This ban was announced after the West African country confirmed four new coronavirus cases, increasing the number of cases to six in total.

Schools at various levels have also been closed indefinitely.

Recall that it was reported that Ghana had imposed a travel ban on countries affected by the virus with over 200 cases on Sunday.

The ban on gatherings will be in force for four weeks starting March 16. Despite the ban on gathering, funerals attended by less than 25 people have been exempted.
