President Muhammadu Buhari has stated that the country has attained food security following the closure of land borders across the country.

This was part of his remarks while meeting with Bashir Mamman Ifo, the outgoing president of the ECOWAS Bank for investment and development (EBID) and George Nana Donkor, his successor.

“We have saved millions of dollars. We have realised that we don’t have to import rice. We have achieved food security,” NAN quoted him to have said.

“We have curtailed the importation of drugs and proliferation of small arms which threaten our country.”
