Kano Govt Shuts Schools, Health Institute

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has ordered the immediate shut down of all public and private schools in the state.

Recall that Zamfara State had also closed down schools over the rising cases of abduction in the region.

The Kano State Commissioner of Education, Sanusi Kiru, disclosed this to media houses on Tuesday evening.

Sanusi Kiru called on parents to pick up their children in boarding schools on Wednesday.

He also revealed that the state government closed down “all public and private health training institutions, including schools of basic/postbasic nursing and midwifery, schools of health technology and school of hygiene with immediate effect.”

The commissioner, however, did not reveal the reason behind the schools’ closure which is coming three days to the end of the third term.
