Ghana Election Should Be An Eye-Opener For Nigeria - Atiku

Former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar has expressed that Ghana’s presidential election should be an eye-opener for Nigeria.

He made this remark while congratulating President Nana Akufo-Addo on his reelection via a tweet on Thursday.

Recall that President Nana polled 6,730,413 votes to defeat his opponent John Dramani Mahama, a former president, who polled 6,214,889 votes in the election held on Monday.

Atiku expressed that Nigeria should learn from the “smooth conduct” of the just-concluded polls in Ghana.

He wrote:

“Congratulations to President @NAkufoAddo on his reelection. The smooth conduct of the Ghana elections should be an eye-opener to our nation.

We must undertake far-reaching electoral reforms that address the shortcomings of our previous experiences and strengthens our electoral process.”
