Ekiti: Gov. Oyebanji Suspends Home Affairs Commissioner For Leaving Retreat Venue Without Notice

Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State, has suspended the Commissioner for Chieftaincy and Home Affairs, Olaiya Atibioke, for two weeks.

Information Nigeria understands that the suspension follows Atibioke’s unauthorised departure from the venue of a three-day retreat for members of the State Executive Council and Permanent Secretaries held at Bishop Adetiloye Hall, Trade Fair Complex, Ado-Ekiti, on Saturday.

According to a statement signed by the Special Adviser (Media) to the Governor, Yinka Oyebode, the Commissioner had left the venue of the retreat without permission.

He was also nowhere to be found when the new Commissioners were called upon to sign a performance charter.

“The Commissioner left the retreat without permission. He was nowhere to be found during the signing of the performance charter,” he said.

Governor Oyebanji who had sat down through all the sessions of the three-day retreat, which commenced on Thursday reiterated his administration’s zero tolerance for indiscipline and poor performance.

The Commissioner, Atibioke, is one of those inaugurated less than a week ago.
