AIB begins probe

dana_air_copyTHE Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) yesterday took books and other documents the offices of the airline, the NCAA, and the control tower.

The documents would be used by the agency in its investigation.

A team from the United State’s National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) was expected in the country last night to assist Nigeria conduct the probe.

The AIB has already begun the analysis of some of the components of the crashed aircraft.

A source in AIB told The Guardian for the embattled airline, there was the need to quickly check their records before the unexpected happen.

At the control tower, the AIB allegedly took away the transcript of the discussion between the captain and the tower during the flight.   An official of the bureau said: “Immediately the accident occurred, we moved to impound the books of the airline, those of the NCAA and transcript from the control tower.”
