Officers of the Lagos State Police command have arrested two persons, one of them said to be a prophet with a white garment church, following the discovery of fresh human parts in their custody.
Men of the Ikotun division of the Lagos Police command on patrol accosted two men at about 12: 30 p.m, Friday, with a Ghana-must-go bag, but when they requested to know the content of the bag, one of the men took to his heels.
It was a gory site when the policemen eventually opened the bag as it contained fresh human parts found inside two containers.
Five fingers, a human heart, liver, kidney and intestines, all concealed in separate plastics filled with water, then tied inside separate polythene bags and kept in the carry-all bag were found.
The suspects also added soup ingredients such as salt, tomatoes and two pairs of bathroom slippers in a separate nylon bag which they placed on top of the human parts to conceal what they have in the bag.
The suspect taken into custody, Kunle Olaide, when interrogated claimed the bag was given to him by his friend who escaped when policemen stopped them.
When interrogated further, Kunle disclosed he slept in a church the previous night with his fleeing accomplice who he said was a prophet of the church at Egbe area of Lagos State.
The said prophet, Dare Akinrosoye was subsequently arrested due to Kunle’s helpful confessional statement.
According to State CID sources, investigation so far revealed that their victim was recently killed. But how the victim was killed or the purpose, and where they were taking the body parts to still remains a mystery the police is bent on unravelling.
The Lagos State Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Damasus Ozoani, confirmed the arrest, and said investigation was still on.
