Avoid Lonely Routes At Odd Hours, Secure Your Cars Against Theft, Police Caution Plateau Residents

police_nigeriaMembers of the public, particularly car owners in Plateau state, have been advised to equip their vehicles with modern anti-car theft mechanisms following the increased spate of car theft in the state of late.

The advice was given by the state police command which also cautioned residents against traveling on lonely routes at odd hours.

“Vehicles owners should avoid plying lonely routes at odd times,” the police said in a statement on Monday.

“This is to inform the members of the general public; particularly car owners ensure that their vehicles have modern security gadgets such as car-tracking devices.

“The precautionary measures taken by the police in safeguarding cars is aimed at helping Anti-car theft strategies on the Plateau,” it added.

It was gathered that reported cases of cars snatched at gunpoint in the state had been on the rise in recent times which culminated last week, in the parade of 13 suspected experts’ car snatchers, who allegedly snatched 11 cars in one week from their victims.
