2014 World Cup Playoff: Nosa Igiebor Pulls Out of Saturday Showdown.

Real Betis midfielder Nosa Igiebor has reportedly ruled himself out of Nigeria’s World Cup playoff against Ethiopia on Saturday as he prepares to undergo surgery for a groin problem.

Coach Stephen Keshi is now expected to make amends to his 25-man squad for the 2014 World Cup playoff return leg as Igiebor, who missed this weekend’s La Liga match against Barcelona, has told MTNFootball.com he is disappointed he will not be part of the team to face the Walyas Antelopes in Calabar.

“It’s really sad, I was happy returning from the minor groin but for a relapse,” he said.

“I really wanted to be a part of history this weekend when we qualify for the World Cup, but I trust that my colleagues would get the job done this weekend.”

The midfielder suffered a relapse of a groin injury he sustained last week while training with his La Liga team.
