Al-Mustapha Vows To Empower Unemployed Nigerian Youth With Skills

Hamza Al-MustaphaHamza Al-Mustapha, former Chief Security Officer to the late dictator, Sani Abacha, has said his new organization, Al-Mustapha Peace, Unity, Development Initiative, APUDI, will empower majority of the unemployed Nigerian youth with skills.

Mr. Al-Mustapha, who is the president of the group, said the organisation was compiling the list of youth organisations across the country with a view to assisting the unemployed youths with skill acquisition and other entrepreneurship development schemes.

“APUDI will go all the way out to call on the attention of all people that matter within and outside Nigeria,” he told journalists on Sunday, in Gombe State.

“Our ambition is to make sure that in Nigeria, everybody receives attention, as provided in our laws.

“To make sure every citizen in this country is given his due rights so that this country will be seen to be on its path of greatness, true to itself”.

According to him, after the data of the unemployed youths is compiled, he will make a comprehensive report on which group of youths would be assisted by local, state or the Federal Government.

Mr. Al-Mustapha added that some of the unemployed youth would be assisted by national and international donor agencies.

He said that no country or society would develop if its youths were jobless.

Mr. Al-Mustapha called on all government and non-governmental organisations to assist in empowering the youths with either education or skills.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Al-Mustapha had on Saturday night met with youth organisations, women’s groups and other stakeholders, where he briefed them on the focus of his organisation.

He told the groups to organise themselves to benefit from APUDI’s programmes, as well as ensure peace and harmony for the country to achieve greatness. (NAN)
