Ivorian Striker Traore Pens Down With Monaco.

Big-spending Monaco have added Cote d’Ivoire striker Lacina Traore to their options upfront from Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala.

The 23-year-old striker with an imposing stature has agreed a four-and-a-half year contract with the principality club.

Earlier reports had linked the 6ft 8in tall striker with an instant loan move to West Ham but will now partner Colombian Radamel Falcao in Monaco’s attack.

Traore, who played alongside current Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’O at Anzhi, is the latest player to leave the Russian outfit as Billionaire owner Suleiman Kerimov continues in his bid to slash his spending.

He scored 12 goals in 24 appearances during the 2012/13 season and have scored four times for the Elephants in seven games. He came in as a second-half substitute in Ivory Coast’s quarter-final loss to Nigeria at the Afcon 2013.

It is however not yet clear whether the Ivorian will be offloaded to West Ham at the moment as this Daily Mail report suggests.
