NFF Warns States Against Defaulting on Federation Cup Schedule

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF)has warned all the 36 States of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) not to default on the date for the final matches of the state preliminaries of the 2014 Federation Cup.

According to the schedule for this year’s tournament, the final match of the state prelims comes up on or before May 4.

“It is important that all states conclude their competitions this weekend and let us have the two representatives for the national finals,” head of the Federation Cup, Miss Ruth David, said in Abuja on Thursday.

“We will not have any state saying it has postponed its final matches or shifted some games to a different date.

“This year is quite busy for the Federation, with so many programmes within and abroad. We want to keep firmly to the schedule and play the final match on Sunday, August 3 as has been announced.”
