Military Attacks Boko Haram In Michika

Boko-Haram

Military authorities, on Friday, confirmed that troops sacked the terrorists who had been occupying Michika and its environs in Adamawa State.

In a statement issued by the Director of Defence Information, Maj.-Gen. Chris Olukolade in Abuja, the defence headquarters noted that an extensive mop-up operation and search for arms and stranded terrorists and other casualties were ongoing.

According to the military authorities, assault on terrorists’ main positions was concluded on Thursday as many of them died in the combat. Troops who sustained injuries in the operation were however receiving medical attention.

“Other troops are continuing the pursuit of those who are on the run from the town. Normalcy has been restored accordingly,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, 126 terrorists were reported to have been killed in yesterday’s clash between the Chadian army and Boko Haram in Fotokol, Cameroon and Gambaru, Nigeria. Three Chadian soldiers were also killed.
