EFCC Moves Against Chime, Grills Ex-Governor’s Chief of Staff

Sullivan ChimeThe Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, appears to be closing in on the immediate past Governor of Enugu State, Sullivan Chime, with the invitation of his former Chief of Staff, Mrs. Ifeoma Nwobodo on Thursday.
The invitation of Mrs. Nwobodo was said to be the beginning of a comprehensive probe into the administration of the former governor.
According to an EFCC source, the former Chief of Staff arrived the anti-graft agency’s headquarters in Abuja at about 9.30am yesterday to respond to issues against her and her former boss.
The source added: “The former Chief of Staff was immediately ushered into the interrogation room to meet a team of crack detectives”.
The sundry allegations border mostly on conspiracy, money laundering, misappropriation of public funds and abuse of office.
Responding to a question, the source added: “I think her invitation is the beginning of some allegations against the administration of ex-Governor Chime.
“We have so many petitions against the former governor. But since his Chief of Staff was central to the coordination of government activities, we need to hear from her first”.

  1. I do not why EFCC is acting this. Why arresting the messengers when the Oga that committed the offence is there. Several of them are still free on the street while their messengers are in the hands of EFCC. This is gross ineffectiveness
