Over 600 Terrorists Killed In 30 Days, Says Military

Boko Haram

Although Boko Haram terrorists have killed over 300 people in the last one month, the Nigerian military says over 600 of the militants might have been killed in the last one month while others are finding life extremely difficult to navigate around in groups due to renewed onslaught by the army on the terrorists.

The latest of the militants’ attack was the killing of 15 worshippers on Sunday at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Potiskum, Yobe state.

“While the terrorists have engaged in guerrilla tactics of using vulnerable girls and young men for suicide attacks on soft targets, we ensure that their fighters do not escape as they continue to meet their waterloos in the hands of the troops,” PRNigeria quoted a top security officer to have said.

“In their desperation to create fear among the citizens, the terrorists are now deliberately targeting remote villages where their former members who had renounced the sect membership were taking refuge.”

Attacks have intensified in recent weeks despite the ongoing Muslim fast, which many believe should have curbed the terrorists from perpetrating attacks since they claimed they were fighting for Islam. However, repeated attacks during the Holy Month of Ramadan have proven otherwise. The insurgents have been carrying out their violent campaign since 2009, killing more than 15,000 people and displacing some 1.5 million.
