NOA To Educate Nigerians On Voting

Voting in progress

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) says it plans to introduce more ‎civic education for Nigerians to help them participate in governance.

The Director General of the NOA, Dr. Garba Abari, made the announcement at a forum organised by a civil society organisation, The Situation Room on Wednesday.

Speaking on Wednesday in Abuja, Dr. Abari noted that the agency’s efforts would address issues of poor voter turnout during elections.

After years of being disappointed by public office holders, many Nigerians have elected to stop voting. Others do not exercise their right to vote out of ignorance. The NOA intends to change this.

Speaking on behalf of other civil society organisations at the gathering, the Executive Secretary, The Situation Room, Clement Nwankwo, promised to sustain the tempo of NOA’s campaign for voter education.
