Rihanna Denies Dissing Beyonce Over Grammy Nominations

Rihanna has denied suggestions that she intended to diss Beyonce when she liked a fan’s social media post that claimed she had been “snubbed” by the Grammys in favor of  her counterpart.

The 2017 Grammy nominations were revealed earlier this week and saw Rihanna overlooked for Album of the Year, with Beyonce, Adele, DrakeJustin Bieber and country singer Sturgill Simpson shortlisted instead.

The star’s Drake collaboration ‘Work’ was nominated for Record of the Year but not Song of the Year, with Rihanna receiving eight nods overall.

Rihanna was spotted liking a fan’s post that suggested that she wasn’t nominated for more because the judges didn’t want her “passing” Beyonce’s feat of nine nominations this year. However, she now claims to have not read the remarks.

In a comment on the original post, Rihanna allegedly wrote: “I never actually read your caption, thought the pic was funny and moved right along! I’m petty af [as fuck], yes. But this is just unnecessary!

I wish y’all would drop this topic and see things from the bigger picture!” she added. “We don’t need to be putting black women against each other! We deserve to be celebrated, and the Grammy Academy agrees!
