Aluu Chief, 12 Others Arrested For Murder Of Four Uniport Students

A Chief in Omokere Aluu community and 12 others have been arrested in connection with the killing of four students of University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, last Friday over robbery allegation.

The students were burnt in Omokere Aluu by some irate youths for allegedly stealing blackberry phones and laptops.

State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ben Ugwuegbulam, in a statement, said those arrested would be thoroughly quizzed over the incident.

The Police image maker was silent on whether the deceased students were robbery suspects or not, but appealed to their parents and students of the University not to take the laws into their hands as a result of the killings, and condemned the killing of the students.

He said: “Rivers State Police Command unequivocally condemns the gruesome killing of four UniPort students on October 5, by irate mob from Aluu community. The command sympathises with the families of the slain students and also appeals to them not to take the laws into their hands. Students of the university are urged not to engage in any reprisal attack as such could lead to chaos and anarchy.

“The command has commenced investigation into the incident. Amazing success has been recorded in that regard as 13 persons, including the chief of the community suspected to have been involved in the reprehensible, barbaric act, have been arrested based on credible intelligence and video clips of the killings. Suspects are being interrogated by crack police team

(If you kill, you must be killed as well) They would also be killed…I think that is purely stated by law. I only pray that justice must surface. It’s really sad. My blood ran chill withing my veins and my heart nearly sunk within me when I watched that video. I pray that God should give the families of the deceased the fortirude and the strenght to bear this great and irreplaceable lossess. The culprists who did this must not go unpunished.

  8. Definately the authority knows what to do to those criminals that did that but in other sense, I was amazed at the magnitude of people that were able to stand and watch that cruel scene! Wow! It shows how devilish people are in that community. Seriously? In this time and age? Even those people too should be arrested also! Really SAD!

I have been crying, can’t understand the heart of man. I don’t want to imagine the kind of pain their parents, siblings and loved ones are going thru. My heart is so heavy with sorrow!   15. It is actually sad that we live in a lawless society. We cannot trust anyone, not even the police who are even worse than robbers and murderers. Those people are worse than animals and must be punished. But the truth is that in a corrupt country like Nigeria, will one get justice for those poor souls that were lost irrespective of the fact that they were robbers or whateva those bastards said they were.I only pray that the God whom i serve will punish those heartless animals and their children for doing what they did to those boys. May a curse be placed upon them not to ever progress in life and may they have a worser death than did those boys. Soon they will all meet their death as the God we serve is not sleeping.   16. Ever since I watched the video I’ve been haunted. I cried, I shed tears and cried out to God. How can people who say they’re human beings do this to their fellow man even for the sake of argument let’s say the stole. So what? This is NOT what you do to another human being. The people that did this to these boys are fathers, brothers, and friends. They were born of a woman and were breastfed. What is Nigeria turning into. 52 years after we gained freedom from our colonial masters and this is how we show the world how far we have come. Oh how the colonial masters would laugh at us.     My heart bleeds for the souls of these beautiful, talented boys. I’ve been listening to the track that Ugonna a.k.a Tipsy and lloyd a.k.a Big L recorded before their wicked death. The track is called aint no love in the heart of the city and it talks about how things have gone really bad in PH.
    My one prayer is that every single person involved in their death from the guy that was owing them money who started screaming “theif” to the people that stood by and watched with no conscience; may Jehovah, the God that answereth by fire bring fire into your household. May the souls of these boys haunt you and your everlasting generation for eternity. May you all die a slow, painful and miserable death, may your hearts be filled with sorrow, may your children grow up and turn against you; may be alive and wish you were dead; may your bodies be devoured by maggots and vultures.   20. I served in Aluu and i know what the community is like. about 4 corps members were attacked and almost killed during my service year. One, a certain Tochukwu almost died of bleeding when he was brutally attacked with a machete around 11pm. Nobody was held responsible as the community leaders were just prevaricating. They alleged that he slept with their girlfriend. That community need real attention cos many more will happen if care is not taken. We were robbed 4 times and the prime suspects were roaming freely simply because they hailed from the community and we were strangers. Ethnophobia is to blame for this act and no matter what the government does, the students through their unions and clandestine organizations must make a statement. finally, as a point of correction, it is “Omuokiri Aluu”, in Ikwerre Local Government area of Rivers State
