Crush Lamido Sanusi before he further destroys the Nigerian economy – NLC President

NLC President Mr Abdulwaheed Omar

As the Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi thinks that about half of the civil service should be fired in order to rescue the nation’s economy, some Nigerians indeed believe that the firing should start with him.

It is against this background that the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has called on the Federal Government to sack the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, for advising the Federal Government to sack half of its work force to maintain a sustainable economy even as the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) has also said Sanusi lacked the capacity to call for the action.

In a reaction to Sanusi’s call, the NLC president in a statement said: “It is obvious Sanusi was never qualified for the office of CBN governor in the first instance, and he must be asked to leave the office as he has shown more than enough incompetence and contempt for the Nigerian people… Since assumption of office as the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, all Sanusi’s major pronouncements have been either directly anti people or ruinous to the Nigerian economy.”

The solution? “We see in Sanusi an agent of death that must be defeated and crushed before he further destroys the Nigerian economy,” the NLC president suggests.

And the worrisome thing is that most Nigerian public officers lack shame. They have not cultivated the habit of throwing in the towel hen their people have lost faith in them. So, Mr Sanusi, apparently most Nigerians do not believe in your ability to rescue the economy of the country, perhaps you want to introduce the N5000 note next year before you exit.

  1. Iam ashamed of the economist/accountant we have in this country,interest/lending rates have never been favorable to the common man or business entrepreneur in this country, the bank which suppose to be a resting place for young Nigerian to borrow money with less sanction has become a battle ground between businessman and shameless bankers who send young girls outside for marketing of money/accompany by prostitution just to get the money from the sugar daddies.
how can young business enterprise emerge in an economy operating under a galloping inflation without a solution? Most of the civil servant are in indented to the Bank either through a housing scheme or rent with a layer agreement tying their future down.School fees have a national problems to families or we can name it more?conveniently we can say the economic theme has failed and there is a need to go back to the drawing board to save the state of the Nation.
    sanusi is already confused.
