Nollywood veteran, Segun Arinze has adopted a student of Babs Fafunwa Millennium Secondary School, Ojodu, Kunle Babatunde as his new protégé in the movie industry.
Arinze decided to mentor and nurture the wonder-kid after he dazzled in Women of Owu, a stage drama presented by his school on Friday during their Literary Day.
Arinze who was a guest speaker at the event described Kunle as a raw talent, who can easily be regarded as the future of acting in Nigeria.
“We don’t have kid actors in Nigeria again. It is sad because they are the set of people expected to take over from the crop of stars we have at the moment. But today, I’m glad to have discovered Kunle Babatunde, and I will do all within my reach to nurture him to the mainstream, only if he promises not to stop going to school,” Arinze said.
Responding to his new mentor, Kunle assured him that he will not get carried away by things stardom would bring him, stressing that education will be his priority.
Comedian and TV show host, Helen Paul was also a guest motivational speaker at the event coordinated by the Ojodu Grammar School Old Students’ Association.
