Nigerian Girl Crowned Miss UN International Tourism

toriGbemisola Shotade, current Miss Global Nigeria (MGN)’s first runner-up, has been crowned Miss UN International Tourism beauty pageant in far away Kingston, Jamaica.

To emerge winner, the Nigerian flag bearer, who is just 21-years old, had to face stiff competition from other beauties representing 21 countries.

Miss Shotade on returning to the country Tuesday morning via the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, said: “I am so excited. There were many pretty girls there but I was lucky to have won. I am glad I was able to make my country proud and set the Nigerian flag flying in faraway Kingston, Jamiaca.”

Shotade, reigning Miss Congeniality, who also won the award for Best Traditional Atire at the pageant, smiled home with $10,000 cash and a modeling contract with Oil Sheen, an international beauty brand.
