Students of Plateau State Polytechnic made good their threat to embark on protest over the strike of their lecturers in jos.It would be recalled that workers in the state-owned tertiary institutions under the aegis of Joint Unions of Tertiary Institutions Workers had earlier threatened to embark on an indefinite strike owing to what they called pending issues with government.
The Students’ Union President, Plateau State Polytechnic, Barkin Ladi, Shikorah Jesse, decried the incessant strike actions which he said had disrupted their academic calendar ‘for a year’.
According to him, “Tertiary institutions in the state have suffered a lot of setbacks.
“Our academic calendar was disrupted recently for a year because of strike embarked upon by our lecturers. This time, we are not going to fold our hands and watch another strike come up without acting” he said.
