Bauchi Reverses Ban on Commercial Motorcycle Operators

Okada-ridersIn a development that will definitely bring a sigh of relief to most residents of Bauchi, the Bauchi State government has announced that the ban earlier placed on motorcycles in the state has been reversed.

The government made this known on Friday in a statement released to the public. The government also noted that the announcement earlier made by Mr Ishola Michael, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Isa Yuguda, on the ban was done in error.

The Permanent Secretary, Special Duties, Mr Abdu Ilelah, said in the statement that alternative measures would be adopted by security agencies to secure lives and property across the state.

“Based on the existing security situation in the state, the decision conveyed in the said press release is hereby reviewed. Government is, therefore, calling on the general public to disregard the ban order,” the statement said.
