Seattle Sounders new boy, Obafemi Akinwumi Martins on Thursday morning showed he still has a lot to offer the Nigerian National team as he dazzled fans at the training session, just as the Super Eagles intensified preparations for the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Kenya.

Keshi split the players into two groups with the likes of Austin Ejide, Azubuike Egwuekwe, Ahmed Musa, Michael Babatunde squaring up against Vincent Enyeama’s side that included Brown Ideye, Sunday Mba, Mikel, Kenneth Omeruo, Victor Moses, Ogenyi Onazi and Martins.

Martins showed he’s still a deadly striker fans knew him to be with his pace and movement which was crowned with a lovely goal that left Ejide with little chance.

All the players trained well and looked ready for the clash with Kenya, but goalkeeper, Chigozie Agbim failed to take part in this round of the session.

The coach who was delighted with the level of commitment shown, and how hard they worked in training drilled the players on wing play, long ball and finishing. He also expressed hope the players will replicate their show in training on the match day.

“I am very impressed with what the boys have done so far. I am impressed with the state of their fitness too. Hopefully, they will deliver on Saturday,” Keshi said after the session.

The game between Nigeria and Kenya will be played at the UJ Esuene Stadium, Calabar on Saturday.
