After netting a hat- trick for Rosenborg in a Norwegian cup tie on Wednesday, John Chibuike has stated he would do more if given a starting role. The ex Hacken of Sweden forward scored three goals in an 11- 0 thrashing of Buvik and fancies a first team shirt.
“It was a determined performance from me and the entire team. The three goals were just a tip of the iceberg. I am ready to do more whenever I get another chance,” Chibuike told MTNFootball.com.
“I don’t have any problems with my team in as much I am doing my best for the club, but as a footballer, I don’t like sitting on the bench especially when I know what I am capable of. I believe I have more to give the club and the fans because they have always been the inspiration for me.”
On his refusal to warm- up for a game last weekend, Chibuike has this to say: “What happened last weekend was a bit of misunderstanding but I am very loyal to my club, the coach and the fans. I am focused on playing and scoring goals for my team.
“There is no good player who will like to be sitting on the bench. I was injured, I came back strongly, I am 100% fit and sometimes when you stay off out of the game for so long, it could be very frustrating and I think that was what happened but now I am happy to prove why I needed the shirt.
“It was a wonderful game for me and the club and I am looking forward to score more goals. I am happy to be back stronger; it is time for me to prove a lot of my potentials to my club, while waiting for a call from the Nigeria national team.”
