Super Eagles and Real Betis midfielder, Nosa Igiebor could be running the risk of a ban or a heavy fine after making an offensive two finger gesture in a La Liga game on Friday.
A statement on the Spanish Football Federation’s (RFEF) website stated that the federation would be looking at the report of the match referee following the tightly contested game on Friday.
The midfielder made the gesture after scoring in Real Betis’ 3- 3 draw against Sevilla on matchday 31 at the Estadio Benito Villamarin.
The Real Betis manager, Pepe Mel is also walking a tight rope for making similar gesture in the ill- tempered match. Mel took to twitter to clarify the motive behind his action saying:
“I insist that unfortunate gesture was neither for the fans nor sevillisimo Sevilla. Yet I apologise for my stupidity. Sorry.”
