Spokesman for the candidates, Haruna Maidabam, described the withholding of their results as a deliberate attempt to deny them the opportunity to further their studies.

According to him, more than 10, 000 students who sat for the examination in Kano metropolis have yet to access their results.
Maidabam said when the results were released last week, they went to the zonal office of Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board in Kano (JAMB) to complain but were directed to go and repeat the thumb printing for verification.
‘’There is no reason for any verification of thumb- print,’’ he said.

He called on the authorities concerned to do something urgently to address their predicament.
When contacted, the JAMB Zonal Coordinator, Hajiya Karimatu Abubakar, described the incident as unfortunate and attributed it to “some technical hitches”.
Abubakar said as soon as the hitches were rectified, the issue would be resolved. (NAN)

  1. I have not seen a system that work in Nigeria.
If a candidate write an exams and the result is not out he have the right to ask question
JAMB admintration is corrupt infact it is better to scrap them and let the schools conduct there own exams Period!

  2. This is purely an act/evidence of incompetence, a system that can not-fore see their result intricacies b4 embarking on the unnecessary bureaucracy(biometric verfication) .what Jamb should do at dis point in time is to release the result of those who were not verified, since they have their submitted photo card(as an evidence of attendance), without delay. Enough of this kindergarten administration, ah ah….. Are we moving forward or backward ?

  3. They haven’t seen anything yet,i just returned from portharcourt of recent with the news/rumor that 56 youth boys and girls have sworn to join terror groups if jamb does not do something fast about the present situation and the pegged cutoff mark of 180

  4. Lamentation of 2013 JAMBITE–
A must read article – Read and
broadcast till it gets to Goodluck
    Jamb withheld over 80 thousand
results – for what? Many due to
    lack of biometric verification –
    What about the centers Jamb
    never provided with biometric
machine ? Who is at fault ? What
    about the centers where the
    invigilators asked the candidates
not to be verified because of time
wasting? Whois to be blamed ?
    What about the center where
    network was the challenge? who
is at fault ? What about those
    candidates who did verification,
    Where istheir result? What will
happen to the 1.2 million that
    won’t get admission? What is
their fate ? What will happen to
the 4 thousand naira each of this
    80 thousand candidates paid?
Why has Jamb not made any
    official statement on this issue?
    What is the Federal Government
doing about this? When will these
results be released or when will
    the candidates come for there
    biometric verification? Who is
going to give an answer to all of
    this questions? When will Nigeria
be a better place? Nigeria is yet to
be developed yet they do things
of a developed country – poor
electricity yet they come up with
    biometric machines that needs the
    use of electricity, Bad network
    communication yet they want to
    do biometric verification which
    requires network- what about
    dose that wrote exams in
villages? Did u build any network
coverage? Jamb should be sued to
court for refusing to verify its
    candidates and thereby refusing
to release their result — Goodluck
    Ebele Jonathan all this things
    happening in your regime
    – this is not boko haram issue so
    you should tackle it
