Nigerian Football Chief Arraigned for Alleged Involvement in N15 Billion Fraud.

On Tuesday evening, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested the Vice- President of Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Mike Umeh, in Lagos for fraud following an arrest warrant issued by a high court sitting in Sokoto.

Mr. Umeh had earlier been expected at the Super Eagles camp on Tuesday before his arrest. He will be arraigned at the ongoing trial of the former governor of Sokoto State Attahiru Bafarawa on today (Wednesday) in Sokoto.

According to EFCC’s spokesman Wilson Uwujaren, Mr Umeh was arrested for being an accomplice in the N15 billion money laundering and misappropriation of public funds case leveled against Mr. Bafarawa.

Mr. Umeh, a businessman allegedly worth billions of Naira, will appear before Justice Bello Abbas.
