Despite distancing themselves from the presidential campaign posters found around Abuja for the joint ticket of Governors Sule Lamido and Chibuike Amaechi of Jigawa and Rivers States respectively, such have also flooded some major towns in Jigawa State.
The posters were pasted in private and public buildings at Ringim town on Sunday by some youths allegedly hired by prominent politicians in the state.
Sources say some people in Rigim were excited by the development as they expressed hope that Lamido would get his party’s ticket to rule the country.
The posters were said to have been brought into Ringim town in large quantities as supporters, party members and other well wishers started collecting the posters which were pasted in commercial buildings, motor parks and other strategic places along Unity Road in the town.
Neither the Jigawa State governor, Sule Lamido nor his Rivers State counterpart has commented on the resurfaced campaign posters.
