Chelsea FC midfielder Juan Mata has had a three points put on his drivers license and been fined £200 for speeding in his Aston Martin.
The Spaniard, presently on an extended holiday in the Asturias following his participation at the Confederations Cup, was doing 63mph in a 50mph limit area of Esher, Surrey, United Kingdom.
Mata, who was not present at the hearing, have been told to pay the fine within two weeks. He must also pay £85 costs and £60 victim surcharges.
Prosecutor Robert Manley told Staines Magisterates’ Court: “The Aston Martin activated the speed device on the A3. It was traveling at 63mph.”
