Turkish club Rizespor have confirmed the signing of Sunshine Stars defender Godfrey Obaobona.
According to a statement on the club’s official website signed by the club’s director and press officer Spacious Aykut, the defender has sealed a four-year deal with the Turkish side.
Obaobona, who arrived Turkey on Tuesday for the completion of the long anticipated deal, is expected to earn €450,000 a year with the Turkish side.
The transfer formalities for the AFCON 2013 winner are expected to be completed on Thursday as well as his unveiling at Rizespor Mehmet Cengiz club house.
Obaobona links up with former Enyimba striker Uche Kalu at the club as he becomes the second Nigerian to pen down for Rizespor.
