Mr. Sani told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kaduna that most of the activists who fought for the actualisation of democratic rule in Nigeria were disappointed with the present political situation in the country.
NAN reports that Sani was aspiring to represent Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the Senate on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“We are very much disappointed with the way the politicians have destroyed our economy, extinguished our hopes and sunk this country into debt and economic ruination.
“Our own political movement is to rescue this country and what is left of our people.
“With the levers of power; we hope to demonstrate those ideas, those ideals to which we hold firmly.
“We also hope that with power, we can connect our people to their own resources; we can end the regime of fraud, injustice and deception that has become the feature of our politics today,” he said.’
Mr. Sani said if elected, he would make a huge difference in the way politicians behaved in the country.
On the crisis in the PDP, the human rights activist described it “as a blessing to opposition parties.
“The division in PDP will create the ground for the opposition to take over power in 2015,” he said.
