The death of one Nasiru Adamu, an indigene of Zamfara State, has brought to eight, the number of deaths recorded in last Friday’s extra-judicial killings of some persons suspected to be terrorists in an uncompleted building in Zone E Apo legislative quarters, Abuja.

Adamu, who was thought to have died along with the seven others initially reported, was admitted at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Asokoro General Hospital.

However, Adamu gave up the ghost around 1 am yesterday from the gunshot injuries he sustained when a combined team of soldiers and State Security Service (SSS) operatives stormed the building they were squatting in at night and opened fire on them purportedly in self defense.

His body was released to his family members for burial yesterday afternoon.

Confirming Adamu’s death, Secretary of the Garki Model Market Association, Murtala Abubakar, also said that the body of one of the seven victims, Musa Yobe, has equally been released to his relatives for burial.

He said he received the bodies in the presence of the relatives of both Adamu and Musa.

“We were called that Adamu, who was admitted at the ICU, died early this morning. We initially waited for the National Assembly members, who visited the hospital on Saturday but we learnt they were busy, so we had to receive the corpses for burial,” Abubakar said.

However, the remaining 11 injured persons are responding to treatment, Abubakar added.
