I Did My Best As Jonathan’s Special Adviser On NASS Matters, Says Sen. Emordi

Senator Joy Emordi, who was sacked as Special Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on National Assembly matters last Friday, has said that she gave her best throughout the duration of her service to the president.

In a statement in Abuja yesterday, Emordi, while highlighting her achievements as Special Adviser disclosed that she recorded astounding success because under her watch, no Executive Bill was thrown out and that 99.9 percent of all presidential nominees were confirmed by the Senate.

The former lawmaker also expressed gratitude to the Senate President, David Mark and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, and all lawmakers in the National Assembly for the “immeasurable cooperation” and support they accorded her.

“I thank God for the privilege to serve our President Goodluck Jonathan as well as distinguished Senators and honorable members who showed me great solidarity every step of the way.”

“Their cooperation ensured that, among others, no Executive Bill was thrown out 99.9 percent of all presidential nominees were confirmed and made the historic passage of the 2013 budget possible.

“I call on the executive and National Assembly members to continue on the path of harmonious executive-legislature relations in the overall interest of the nation,” she added.
