This is contained in a statement issued in Abuja and signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr Reuben Abati.

The statement which said the two were relieved of their appointments with immediate effect, thanked them for their services and wished them success in their future endeavours.

Just last week, President Jonathan sacked nine ministers in his cabinet. He had earlier sacked the youth minister.

Meanwhile, two legislators have said that they were sad over the sacking of Sen. Joy Emordi as Special Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on National Assembly.

In separate interviews with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the lawmakers described Emordi as a hard working woman who did so much to improve the relationship between the Executive and the Legislature.

Minority whip of the House of Representatives, Samson Osagie (APC-Edo), described the adviser as a democrat who understood the dynamics of Executive-Legislature relationship.

“I commend her for the much she did as Special Adviser on National Assembly Matters.

“She is, and will remain the joy of the National Assembly,” he said.

Also reacting, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila (APC-Lagos), Minority Leader of the House, said he was surprised at the sack of Emordi.

He said she did a good job for the President under the circumstances she found herself.

  1. Well thank God Jonathan did not sack or dismiss any legislator cos he don’t have power to. All those who claim to be surprised are free to be . How come its only APC leaders that are surprised? Political surprise or sympathy. Joy was working for the executive or Jonathan cos he (Jonathan) felt she is best but if he decide to try another person, it shouldn’t be a thing of surprise to anybody. That’s how u enemies of progress leave ur work to criticise whatever Goodluck does cos ur envy of him and u pray for his failure. Support him fools and let him do the work u elected him to do for us instead of always judging him and his actions..
