A 35-year-old man, Segun Majeed, was yesterday remanded in prison by an Ibadan High Court over alleged r*pe.
The prosecutor, Mrs Olumide Ojo, told the court that the defendant allegedly defiled a nine-year-old girl on May 29, 2012, at the Army Barracks Primary School, Iwo Road, Ibadan.
She told the court that she was yet to respond to the application filed by defence counsel, Mr. Olaniji Olabinjo.
Ojo said she had just been served, that the court should give her time to respond.
Justice Mashud Abas ordered that the defendant be taken back to prison and adjourned the case till tomorrow, October 10, 2013.
