Family of a housewife, Amaka Okoro, allegedly murdered by her husband, Henry Okoro, over her alleged inability to bear him a child, has cried out to the Lagos State Government to prevent alleged attempt by some ‘powerful persons’ to cover up the case.

Late Amaka was said to have died after a fight with her husband at their Gbagada home in Lagos.

In a petition to the Lagos State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Ade Ipaye, the deceased’s family, through their lawyer, Bamidele Ogundele, claimed that the suspect’s family was in talks with the police to duplicate the case file so that the matter will be discontinued. They therefore sent a save our soul message to the Attorney-General to ensure the suspect’s family fail in their bid and that justice is done in the case.

“Surprisingly, the defendant’s family members, particularly his uncle and father who came to the Ebute Metta magistrate’s court when the defendant was charged to court, was seen by our client discussing with the prosecutor to immediately duplicate the case file to the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, DPP, to enable him kill the case file through his contacts,” the petition partly read in part.
