Lots of people talk about the ups and downs of their marriage but for one woman, hers is not so much a romantic rollercoaster ride as a frisky ferris wheel ride.
Linda Ducharme who comes from Florida, a state that outlaws gay marriage, has got married to a giant theme park ride named Bruce.
Love-struck Linda said: “I got this weird feeling I can’t explain. My heart was pounding as we went up the platform and got on the ride. I felt like I was being taken by this ride.
“Bruce is my world, I think about him constantly, it just completely feels right when I’m with Bruce.”
Linda and Bruce recently renewed their vows. Bruce failed to speak up in objection, so must forever hold his peace, and the ceremony was filmed by US channel Logo TV.
Moving slightly away from tradition, Linda wore some sort of centurion’s helmet and the reverend bound them together, hand in girder, by a thread.
Linda isn’t the first woman to find metal structures riveting. In 2007 the Eiffel Tower popped the question to Erika LaBrie (ok, technically she’s called Erika Eiffel now).
Erika is the founder of OS Internationale, an organisation for those who want meaningful relationships with inanimate objects. As well as the Parisian tourist attraction, Erika has also had flings with the Berlin Wall and Cupid also fired an arrow at her in the direction of her longbow Lance.
See Erika getting intimate with the Eiffel Tower. Caution, may not be safe for work, depending on your company’s policy of women dry-humping cultural landmarks.
