Giwa FC defeated Abia Warriors on penalties in the final match of the Nigeria National League (NNL) Championship Cup competition (Super Four), after the match ended 1-1 in regulation time.

The Jos-based outfit emerged the best of the four newly promoted teams by claiming a 6-5 victory over Abia Warriors on Thursday at the Abuja National Stadium.

Peter Onyekachi gave Abia Warriors the lead before Oseme Edoh equalised for coach Solomon Bala’s boys.

Giwa goalkeeper Leke Ojo helped his side to victory in the shootout by saving a kick.

FC Taraba clinched bronze by beating Crown FC of Ogbomoso 2-0 in the third-place match.

Mohammed Usman and Bobby Abel’s goals in the 42nd and 67th minutes helped the Jalingo-based side to finish third.
