Tears flowed freely in Emu–Unor community, Ndokwa East Local Government Area, home town of the deceased Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Delta State Police Command, Mr. Lucky Uyabeme, as he was buried at the weekend.

Family members and close associates wept uncontrollably, and the people of Emu-Unor trooped out en-masse to pay their last respect to the departed crime fighter.

Uyabeme died in a ghastly motor accident, which occurred on the roads between Ogwashi-Uku, Aniocha South Local Government Area of the state and Kwale, neighbouring council area.

He was said to be returning from his village, Emu-Unor, when the incident happened late November, last year. The Highlander Jeep he was riding in with two others, a man and a woman, was said to have somersaulted severally before killing only him.

Uyabeme died on the spot, but the two other occupants battled for survival at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Asaba, before they recovered.

Prior to his untimely death, Uyabeme rose to the rank of an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).
