I Am A Politician With Principles; I Can’t Dump PDP – Tambuwal

He has been accused of unwarranted closeness to the opposition even before most members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who defected to the All Progressives Congress, APC did, but he still remains a member of the PDP despite the current minority status of the PDP at the House of Representatives where he is Speaker.

With pressure mounting to prompt his defection over plans to effect a change in the leadership of the House due to the minority status of the PDP, Hon. Aminu Tambuwal, Tuesday said that he has no plan to abandon the PDP just because it was in crisis.

According to him, he’d rather remain in the PDP to help fix its problems as that was the hallmark of a politician with principles.

Speaking while visiting Akamkpa, Cross River State, Tuesday, Tambuwal told journalists categorically that he remains a staunch member of the PDP and has no plans to defect from it either now or in the near future, adding that one of the qualities of a good politician was the ability to weather the storm.
