The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Bauchi State scored big yesterday as twenty prominent politicians and their supporters in Zaki Local Government of the state decamped from their different political parties including APC, APGA and PDM to the ruling party.
Receiving the defectors at the local council secretariat, the PDP Chairman in Zaki Local Government, Alhaji Umar Rodi noted that they were former members of the party, who had earlier, decamped to the opposition parties and welcomed them back with assurances that they would be treated equally.
“I want to assure our new members that PDP welcomes them back into the fold. The party is also using this opportunity to appeal to our members who are still in the valley of indecision to make up their minds and return to where they belong. PDP is assuring that they will continue to be treated equally with other members.
“I also urge our members who have returned back to the fold to maintain support and work towards the success of the party in view of its popular policies and programs that uplift the people’s welfare,” he said.
