The Ondo State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested three men suspected of stealing 10,000 litres of adulterated diesel.
Ondo NSCDC Commandant, Alhaji Popoola Waheed Bamidele, speaking on the arrest, warned people against dealing in adulterated petroleum products.
Narrating how the suspects were arrested, Spokesperson for the Command, Kayode Balogun, said they were apprehended while driving a truck in Owena village along Ilesha-Akure highway, when a patrol team of the corps noticed the ‘waybill’ covering the oil transportation was fake.
PRO Balogun said a laboratory analysis of the product found the diesel was adulterated.
The names of the suspects are Jimoh Salami, Anifowose Saheed and Ojuolape Afeez.
The three suspects refused to deny the allegations.
