State governors elected on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party, on Tuesday met behind closed doors with President Goodluck Jonathan and the National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Adamu Muazu, inside the President’s office shortly after the Council of State meeting.
Muazu had arrived the Presidential Villa while the council’s meeting was ongoing and waited patiently till the end.
At the end of the closed door meeting, Muazu, who stepped out of the president’s office before the party’s governors, refused to speak to State House correspondents.
When asked of his moves to reconcile aggrieved party members, the PDP chairman simply said, “A negative question deserves no answer” as he barraged his way through the battery of cameramen.
As the governors were coming out also, they insisted that only the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State could speak on their behalf.
However, Akpabio kept mum as he walked away.
