IG Full Of Gratitude As Son, One Other Survive Plane Crash-Land In Niger Republic

An aircraft belonging to IRS Airlines, yesterday evening crash-landed in Niger Republic. The Aircraft was believed to be on its way back to Nigeria from a C-Check when the incident occurred.

The two occupants of the plane, the pilot and the co-pilot survived the crash.

The co-pilot, Capt Jamil Abubakar, is the first son of the Inspector General of Police, IGP, MD Abubakar.

The incident which was confirmed by the Nigeria Police via its official Twitter handle, @PoliceNG, quoted the IG as being full of gratitude to God for preserving the life of the pilot and his son, the co-pilot.

Information Nigeria recalls that IRS Airlines, which is owned by Kano-born business mogul, Alhaji Isiaku Rabiu, stopped operations when its aircraft developed hydraulic problem while landing at the Kaduna airport last year, prompting the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) to ground its fleet.
