Osaze Odemwingie opened scoring for Stoke City on Saturday, as the ‘Potters’ claimed a 4-1 win over Fulham FC to equal their best ever Premier League point tally of 47.
The Nigeria international, 32, swept home Stoke’s first, after Steven Ireland’s shot had deflected off the crossbar.
It was his sixth goal since switching to the Brintannia Stadium from Cardiff City.
The win also sealed the ‘Cottagers’s’ fate, as Felix Magath’s Fulham prepares for life in the Championship next season.
Odemwingie is expected to be named by Super Eagles head coach, Stephen Keshi, in his provisional squad for the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil.
His goal separated both teams at half-time, before Marko Arnautovic and Oussama Assaidi made it 3-0 after the break.
Kieran Richardson scored for Fulham, but Jon Walters restored Stoke’s 3-goal lead.
