Nyako’s Impeachment’ll Discourage Foreign Partners From Helping Nigeria In Counter-Insurgency War – Okorocha

Rochas OkorochaGovernor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State has expressed concern that the impeachment of the former Governor of Adamawa State, Rear Admiral Murtala Nyako (retd), might lead to the withdrawal of some foreign assistance in the counter-insurgency war.

Adamawa is one of the northeastern states currently under emergency rule.

Okorocha, while reacting to Tuesday’s removal of Nyako from office by the Adamawa State House of Assembly, through a press statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media, Sam Onwuemeodo, regretted that despite series of discussions and dialogue for the lawmakers to have a rethink, they still went ahead with their impeachment.

“The impeachment won’t encourage other nations of the world willing to help us come out of our security problem to take us serious. To say the least, the impeachment was not the best of actions this time”, part of the statement reads.
