Bindow Jibrilla Campaign Organisation has urged the All Progress Congress (APC) to suspend Adamawa govenorship primaries for 2015.

The Director General of the campaign organisation, Alhaji Abdulrahman Jimeta, made the appeal on Thursday at a press briefing in Yola.

Jimeta said the party should suspend the primaries and ratify Sen Bindow Jibrilla who emerged candidate of the party for the cancelled governorship by-election to be the party’s candidate for 2015.

Jimeta said allowing Jibrilla, who had already campaigned and received massive support from all parts of the state would promote unity and give the party an added advantage in the polls.

Jimeta alleged that a certain group was trying to hijack the party and impose a candidate for 2015 and if that was allowed to happen, APC would be the looser.

“We have already bought intent form for our candidate in case the party insisted on fresh primaries and we are confident of our candidate emerging victorious once more.

“However, we felt our candidate, who emerged base on popular demand and had already done the necessary campaign, be endorsed to carry on as the party candidate for positive result”, Jimeta said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that apart from Sen Bindow Jibrilla, Dr Tahir Mamman, the former Director General of Nigerian Law School and a former Yola North Local Government Chairman, Alhaji Mijinyawa Ibrahim have picked intent forms for the 2015 governorship election under APC. (NAN)
